Zach Galifianakis Covers The May Issue Of ‘GQ’
Posted by: | Comments
Zach Galifianakis and his beard gloriously cover GQ magazine’s May issue just in time for his (and his beard’s) starring role in ‘The Hangover Part II.’
Rather than the usual fashion spread or long-form profile, Galifianakis (who appeared last summer on GQ’s Comedy Issue cover) indulged in a little writing of his own, Mad Libs-style.
"Hi, my name is Zach Galifianakis," begins a feature titled ‘The World Sucks, But I Have Some Plans.’ "We all know the planet is going through a tough time. So many problems, so few problem-solving people. So in a stroke of genius and magazineness, GQ asked me to tackle these issues in the most powerful way possible: By completing a fill-in-the-blanks. This should solve everything."
An excerpt from the cover story:
I learned a lot about the world on the set of my newest movie, ‘The Hangover Part II.’ We made this one because I still felt unresolved about MY CHARACTER’S FATNESS and Mike Tyson’s PIGEON LOVE. We shot it in Thailand, which is fun, because there you can GET INTO FIGHTS WITH PACKS OF STRAY DOGS. I also got to work with Bradley Cooper, who DROVE A HOT-DOG CAR around the set, and Ed Helms, who is A BANJO FREAK and needs to CONSIDER ANOTHER INSTRUMENT more.
Enough about show business! Let’s talk about important stuff. The world has never been more screwed up than it is right now. Except maybe during the WONDER years. I think it all started with FRED SAVAGE and that whole thing he did with SAVAGE GARDEN. Why ask me what to do? Well, celebrities’ views on the world are GREAT, because we’re ALWAYS GIVING OURSELVES AWARDS AND NOT AT ALL EMBARRASSED BY IT.

This is a disastuh

In news that is sure to make you question why you even bother watching this show, it has been confirmed today that Jonathon Groff and Mark Salling will be performing ONTD’s favorite song at McKinley High’s prom.
I am, quite unfortunately, talking about Rebecca Black’s “Friday.”

The prom shoot also began today:
MMA fighter fought while 2 months pregnant
Posted by: | Comments
Following Saturday night’s Strikeforce event, CEO Scott Coker told MMA Fighting that female fighter Cindy Dandois was forced to pull out of a June 18 fight against Gina Carano because she was three and a half months pregnant.
“Cindy actually wanted to take the fight,” Coker said, “and ended up being three and a half months pregnant. So she will not be fighting on June 18.”
Dandois confirmed the news Tuesday on her Facebook fan page:
“I am so sad I cant take the fight against Gina. It was and still is one of my biggest goals. But on the other hand, it is a blessing from God to get a child an [sic] become a mother again. A child is forever and you must care about a life that is given by the hand of God. I hope I can do the fight after my pregnancy.”
Dandois didn’t confirm if she was in fact three and a half months pregnant.
This is an important fact because Dandois (5-1) most recently fought on March 19, defeating Jorina Baars via second-round TKO (footage below). If she is that far along in her pregnancy, that means she competed in a fight, which took place in Belgium, while she was at least two months pregnant.
Thus far, MMA Fighting has been unsuccessful in reaching Dandois for comment.
According to Coker, Strikeforce is “in the process of locking down the other opponent [for Carano] right now,” and the organization hopes to have the situation finalized in the coming weeks.
Carano (7-1) hasn’t competed in MMA since losing to Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos for the vacant Strikeforce 145-pound title in August 2009.
Nicki Minaj Creating A ‘Bigger, Brighter & More Spectacular’ Show with Britney Spears
Posted by: | CommentsA day after making the official announcement that Nicki Minaj will be joining Britney Spears‘ North American Summer tour, Nicki called Ryan Seacrest to fill us in on what to expect in the highly-anticipated show.
“I’m calling to let everyone know how thrilled I am — how honored I am to be going on the road with the iconic miss Britney Spears this Summer,” said Nicki in an exclusive voicemail left for “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.” “I just know that when the Femme Fatales and The Barbs get together we’re going to kick major ass.”
She continued, “I’m looking forward to creating a new, a bigger, a brighter, a more spectacular show, and I’m just really, really excited to make history with Britney.”
Tuesday after the announcement, Nicki tweeted to Britney, “let’s keep the “other thing” a secret for now.” What the secret is, no one knows but as we get closer to the opening date of the concert in Sacramento, CA, keep listening to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” as he gets more info from Britney and Nicki.

James McAvoy Still Unsure On ‘Anna Karenina’, Talks ‘Welcome To The Punch’
Posted by: | Comments
Every time I interview James McAvoy I get the sense that, were I not a journalist recording the conversation, he’d be full of hilarious and frank stories to tell from his years in the entertainment industry. He’s an accessible and funny guy to talk to, and you get the sense that he’s not beating around the bush to avoid giving you real answers; it’s not like he’ll give away the ending to X-Men: First Class or anything, but he never seems hesitant or cagey like so many other actors.
Which is why I was bummed when he answered my question about Joe Wright’s planned Anna Karenina. He’s been very vocal about wanting McAvoy for the film, but it’s been unclear if McAvoy’s schedule would cooperate; based on what he told me it seems that’s still very much up in the air.
Luckily he did tell me a little about what will be his next project, the UK-based crime thriller Welcome to the Punch, and how he chooses between smaller projects like The Conspirator and giant blockbuster mayhem like X-Men: First Class. Check out that excerpt from our interview below, and come back tomorrow for my full conversation with McAvoy about his new Civil War-era film, The Conspirator.
Joe Wright has been very vocal about wanting you Anna Karenina. Any idea if you’ll be able to do it?
I don’t know at the moment, it’s all a bit of– no, not really. When did he say that?
He was doing Hanna press and said he wanted both you and Saoirse Ronan back in.
Oh, that’s nice. No, I don’t know what’s happening with that at the moment.
I wrote this morning about you taking a role in Welcome to the Punch. Is that totally true?
It’s true, I’m going to do that in June or July.
Since that’s shooting in the UK, are you using it as a way to come home after running around doing press for X-Men for months?
Kind of. I filmed X-Men in Britain as well. I’ve only ever actually made one film in America, and that’s The Conspirator. I did a week with Wanted in America, and five weeks on X-Men in America, and that’s it. It’s generally Britain or Europe.
Is there also a desire to make a smaller movie to counterbalance a big movie like X-Men, especially with the sequels looming?
Yeah, of course. I don’t think you can just do the big stuff. And if you do just keep doing the big stuff people get bored. But I want to keep working, so you want to diversify and do different things. I just want to do good work, and this is a very exciting script, and a very exciting director, someone I think is exceptionally talented and so impressively invested in his craft and his job. I find that quite infectious.
